Privacy Policy

Kwéyòl Dictionary for iPhone · Effective 26 October 2026

In short: Kwéyòl Dictionary does not collect, store, share or sell any of your personal information. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

Who we are

Kwéyòl Dictionary (“the app”) is developed by Stephen A. Dantes (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles information. If you have any questions, contact us at dictionary@stephendantes.net.

Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. The app has no user accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not send your searches, the words you view, or any other activity to us or to anyone else.

  • No analytics or usage tracking
  • No advertising or advertising identifiers
  • No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone
  • No third-party data-collection tools

Information stored on your device

To work properly, the app saves a small amount of information only on your device:

  • your favourite words
  • your game scores and best quiz score
  • your preferences, such as text size, and whether you have seen the welcome screens

This information never leaves your device through the app, and we cannot see it. It is removed when you delete the app. It may be included in your own iCloud or device backups, which Apple manages under its own privacy policy.

Emails you choose to send

The app lets you suggest a correction, submit a word or send feedback by email. These features open your own email app with a pre-filled message, and nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. If you do, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use them only to read and reply to your message and to improve the dictionary. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your email with anyone.

Sharing and links

When you share a word, the app uses the standard iOS share sheet, and you choose where it goes. The app may also open this website in your browser. Websites and apps outside Kwéyòl Dictionary have their own privacy policies.

Children’s privacy

The app is suitable for all ages. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we do not collect it.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example by adding online word submissions, we will update this policy and the date above before the change takes effect.
